Pro R vs. Pro R Boost

Pro R vs. Pro R Boost

Posted by Jason M on Sep 22nd 2026

Polaris just put 275 horsepower in a production RZR. The 2027 RZR Pro R Boost adds a turbo to the 2.0L ProStar Fury, starts at $49,999, and starts shipping to dealers in November 2026. That's 50 hp more than the outgoing Pro R, in a car that's one second quicker to 50 mph. More power means bigger hits, faster landings and more load through every tube and heim joint on the car. Here's what the Boost changes, and what we'd put on one.

Pro R vs. Pro R Boost: The Numbers

Spec RZR Pro R (outgoing) 2027 RZR Pro R Boost
Engine 2.0L ProStar Fury, naturally aspirated 2.0L ProStar Fury, Garrett turbo
Horsepower 225 hp 275 hp @ 7,000 rpm
Torque — 223 lb-ft @ 6,000 rpm
Driven clutch 293 mm 330 mm, heavy-duty belt
Width 74" 74"
Dry weight (2-seat Ultimate) — 2,531 lbs
Starting MSRP — $49,999

Polaris also rebuilt the front diff, dropped the PTL limited-slip for a direct drive into the front, and moved to a dual-radiator cooling layout. The drivetrain got built for 275 hp. The factory cage and arms are the parts that didn't get the same upgrade.

Why More Power Hits the Chassis

Horsepower doesn't break arms. Speed does. A car that shows up to the next whoop 5 mph faster sends more energy into the lower arms, the rod ends and the cage mounts every single time it lands. Stock arms bend, and a bent arm throws off your alignment for the rest of the day. A stock cage is fine until the day you actually need it.

  • Race cage: $3,995

FAQ

Will Wolfpack Pro R arms and cages fit the 2027 Pro R Boost?

The Boost stays at 74" wide on the Pro R platform, and Polaris hasn't announced frame or suspension-geometry changes. We'll test-fit on the first Boost we get our hands on in November and confirm fitment here. Call us at 714-694-3797 before you order.

Do I need arms if I'm not racing?

If you drive fast through rocks or whoops, yes. Stock arms bend on rock strikes, and a bent arm means a tow home or an alignment fix before you can drive it again. 4130 chromoly takes the hit and keeps its shape.

Why 4130 arms and DOM cages?

Each material fits its job. 4130 chromoly gives you strength without weight in the suspension, where unsprung weight matters. DOM gives the cage a consistent wall with no weld seam to split.
