Trail Hero 2026 Results and Recap: Six Days at Sand Hollow

Posted by JMerrell on Oct 5th 2026

Trail Hero 2026 is in the books. For six days, September 28 through October 3, Hurricane, Utah turned into the center of the off-road world, with thousands of rigs running the rock on Sand Mountain next to Sand Hollow. If you were there, you already know how big this thing has gotten. If you weren't, here's the recap: who won, what the week looked like, and why this event matters more than the trophies.

Maxxis Roxxzilla SxS Shootout Results

The side-by-side headline of the week was the Maxxis Roxxzilla SxS Shootout, and the podium showed just how wide open UTV rock competition is right now. Three very different machines finished in the top three.

2026 Maxxis Roxxzilla SxS Shootout podium at Trail Hero: 1st Braden Dalton, 2nd Craig Stumph, 3rd Dezrik Parks

Place Driver Notable
1st Braden Dalton Fastest time of the day on the first run
2nd Craig Stumph Single-seat Polaris RS1.5 with rear steer
3rd Dezrik Parks Six-seat Honda Pioneer

A rear-steer single seater and a six-seat Pioneer on the same podium. That tells you the Shootout isn't won by one formula. It's won by drivers who know their machine, set it up right, and keep it together over a brutal course.

The Rest of the Competition

The Shootout wasn't the only competition on the schedule. Trail Hero also ran the BFGoodrich Trail Breaker, the W.E.ROCK rock crawling event and the UTVPros UTV Challenge. Official results for those events haven't been published yet. We'll update this post once they are.

145+ Trails, 2 to 10+

The real heart of Trail Hero is the trail rides. With more than 145 trails rated from 2 up to 10+, there's a line for everybody, from a stock machine out for its first real rock to built rigs going after the hardest obstacles on Sand Mountain. Guided runs, big groups, and a whole week of seat time make this one of the best places in the country to learn what your machine and your driving can actually do.

It's also a place where parts get tested hard. Rock trails load suspension, ball joints, axles and cages in ways a dune weekend never will. A week at Sand Hollow will find every weak link in a build.

More Than an Event: Trail Hero Gives Back

What sets Trail Hero apart is who it's for. Over the years the event has taken more than 2,500 special needs riders and more than 6,000 veterans out on the trail, many of them for the first time. Trail Hero raises $80,000+ a year for its charity partners:

  • 4 Wheel to Heal
  • Red Rock Center for Independence
  • Racing Anxiety
  • Utah Public Lands Alliance

As a family-run off-road company, that's the part of Trail Hero we respect most. Off-roading is about the people you ride with, and this event puts that front and center.
