The Sand Sports Super Show runs September 18–20, 2026 at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa. It is the biggest sand event of the year and the last real buying window before Imperial Sand Dunes ranger stations open on Friday, October 17. Four weeks between the show closing and the dunes opening. That is your build schedule.

Show Special: Can-Am X3 Chromoly Ball Joints, $135 a Full Set
Our Can-Am X3 heavy duty chromoly ball joints (part WP078CA) normally run $179.95 for the complete set of four — two uppers and two lowers. At the Super Show they are $135.00 a full set.

Factory X3 ball joints do not usually announce themselves before they let go. Play develops, the stud starts walking under side load, and the failure happens the one time you actually load the front end. At $135 for all four corners, this is the cheapest structural upgrade you can make to an X3.

The gas struts are the part people underrate. A carrier that holds its own weight open means changing a tire in the dunes is a one-person job, and it means the cooler underneath is still reachable without unloading the car.
Polaris Xpedition +4 Long Travel Kit
The Xpedition +4 Long Travel Kit went into production last month and it is the piece we get the most questions about. The Xpedition is a heavy machine built to carry gear and go a long way from the truck. Stock, it is 64" wide on 30" tires. That is a lot of weight on a narrow track.

Eight inches of extra track width changes how the machine behaves on off-camber sand and side hills more than any shock package will. Getting onto 35s changes what it floats over. Together they turn the Xpedition from a machine you drive carefully into one you drive.
While you are in there, the Xpedition MOLLE rack mounts to the window opening and gets gear off the floor.

Why Chromoly, and Why It Is Welded Here
Every arm, carrier, and cage we sell is CAD designed, CNC cut, welded in-house in the United States, and finished before it ships. We build suspension from 4130 chromoly with Delrin bushings and stainless steel ball joint studs. Cages are 1.75" x .095 DOM or chromoly, cut and welded in jigs.
The reason is fatigue, not headline strength. Sand does not break parts the way rocks do. Big whoops and long throttle pulls put millions of small load cycles into a chassis. Mild steel with a weld seam running its length does not fail on the landing — it cracks at the seam three trips later, two miles from the truck. Chromoly resists the crack propagation that kills mild steel arms over a season. More on how we build them on our suspension construction page.
Common Questions
Does the tire carrier fit a 4-seat Pro XP?
Yes. It fits Pro R, Pro S, and Pro XP in both 2-seat and 4-seat, Turbo and non-Turbo.
Do I have to cut or weld anything to install the carrier?
No. It comes with shock mounts, bed mounts, and hardware. No welding.
Will a 35 fit on the carrier?
It will physically fit a 35". We recommend 33" as the practical limit for how it carries and how the struts behave.
Do I need new axles with the Xpedition kit?
Yes. Going to 72" means the kit needs +4 axles. You can order it with our Rhino 2.0 +4 axles for $1,144.00, or order the kit without and have axles built to the specs we give you.
Is the $135 ball joint price good after the show?
The $135 full set is a Super Show price. Regular pricing is $179.95 for the complete set of four.
